The Court House

Setting
Ambli, Ahmedabad
Area
2,400 sq ft
Typology
Residential
Status
2026 concept · Unbuilt

The brief.

A three-bedroom home for an imagined family who want to live around daylight, with a quiet place for a parent and a generous table for everyone.

A planted central court becomes the organising room. Living and dining borrow its light; the bedroom corridor moves to the shaded edge. A deep window seat turns circulation into a place to pause.

A constraint.
An opportunity.

The plan needed privacy at the street without closing the home to daylight.

A layered threshold separates entry, sitting and court. Perforated screens filter views, while a high opening gives the inner rooms a second source of light.
